Open for just a couple weeks, a gentleman called to ask if we’re a vegan bakery. I had never baked. And looked across the room to a convectional oven, that I had never turned ON, but acquired from the previous store, and just as I had said YES to the idea of Sun In Bloom, I said, “Yes sir. We do. We bake delicious vegan cupcakes and would love to take your order.”
And this was the beginning to my journey discovering I have celiac disease and creating delicious, homemade, and healthier gluten-free vegan sweet treats that are nostalgic to everyone’s taste buds.
Sun In Bloom’s sources the highest quality, natural and mostly organic, non-GMO and healthier ingredients we can find. Our kitchen is not a nut-free environment and if you have a nut allergy, you must sign a release saying you are aware that there are nuts on the premises and you still want to proceed with the order and that we are not liable.
Orders are taken Monday through Friday between 8:30 AM and 3 PM. Please provide us with 48 hours notice for all orders. During the holidays, our orders tend to book up a few weeks in advance, please plan accordingly.
The cake was a gift to the eyes. We showed it to other people eating at the restaurant. Everyone ‘ooh-ed’ and ‘ahh-ed’. We took it to Prospect Park. I put a candle on it. He blew it.
